What is the best way to capture irregular item dimensions?

xDIM:

  • Navigate to the correct measurement method on the bottom left of your screen.
  • For irregular item measurements, you will want to take a top-down approach.
  • Position your tablet over the object and you will start to see the lines begin to circle around the object you are measuring.
  • In 2 to 6-seconds, you will have your completed capture of accurate measurements.
  • Note: If multiple items are too closely together, xDIM may try to cluster those as one. Make sure the item you are measuring is separated from others.

xPIM+:

  • First you will want to make sure the item you are wanting to dimension is far enough away from other items, so the capture doesn’t try to group capture dimensions.
  • Navigate to the dimensioning icon to the right of your device screen.
  • Select the irregular item measurement icon located at the bottom of your device screen.
  • You will want to position your device roughly 2 to 3 feet above the irregular item for a top-down approach. Note: distance may change depending on the size of the flat item.
  • You will then receive your sub-second capture.
