Smart Batch Connect is an abstraction layer on top of Simatic Batch which enables integration with different systems (ERP, MOM, Cloud, Web).
Smart Batch Connect is an abstraction layer on top of Simatic Batch, providing in a façade to the Simatic Batch COM API. The product simplifies Simatic Batch integration with various systems such as MOM, ERP and even cloud based systems, thereby shortening the time-to-market of a solution. Smart Batch Connect exposes an gRPC based API through which the integrating system can communicate with Simatic Batch. The API provides in the same methods as the Simatic Batch COM API, translated to a modern protocol. Smart Batch Connect also enables queuing of (filtered) API and SIS events, so that all events can be processed in chronological order by consumers at any time. No events will get lost in case of connectivity issues between the integrating system and Smart Batch Connect; events will be stored until confirmed to be processed by the consumer. Multiple Smart Batch Connect clients can communicate simultaneously with Simatic Batch.
